Considered the oldest and purest of Swiss breeds and once the most prominent of all dairy breeds in North America, these gentle, friendly goats are noted for their hardiness and adaptability to all climates. Their coat can be any shade of brown from light fawn to dark chocolate. A mature doe weighs 120 pounds or more. A mature buck weighs 150 pounds or more. Toggenburgs are noted for their longer than average lactations.
